Past of ours:
Do you remember the moment that lay in mother’s embrace, or everyone grimaced together while taking family photos. Or do you ever remember completing the assignment quickly, just to watch your own favorite cartoon avatars shown out from the black box? While creating this series, I asked people around all ages, people who are between 20 to 35 mostly think for a long time. “We are not yet at that age where we can recall our childhood.” Said by a 21-year-old boy. This moved me inexplicably for no reason, the moments which are most mundane, disappearable, beautiful, sentimental, or even the weakest moments. Marcel Proust once famously wrote the moment exclusive to him in a passage, but his writing style makes everyone could found out moment like this in their own life, and we name it as “moments of daily life”. Through the brilliance of memories, we can capture the process of life once flowing, and find our own forgotten yesterday time. By explaining the topic of personal memory, responding to the avatar which grows up with us, at the same time, it evokes the common experience of the viewer. The “once” belongs to you and me.
